Hey all,
I've been looking around for an answer to this, but haven't found anything yet. Maybe someone here can help.
When I open an MPEG file with avidemux, it pops up a dialog asking if I want to build an index, which it stores in a file. Once built, I can scroll really smoothly through the video and everything, and I love it.
Unfortunately, it does not give me that option for other file types (e.g. mp4), and so I can only scroll in too-large chunks (1-10 second intervals), or frame-by-frame, neither of which is appealing.
Is there a way to force it to build a proper index for all file types, or is MPEG somehow special? I don't see any obvious menu items (like "Video -> Build Awesome Index" hehe).
Since I can always go frame by frame, it would stand to reason that it should be able to index anything in the same manner.
Thanks much!
