Hi,

I've ripped about 20 blurays so far, and have another 20 or so to go. Handbrake is chugging on the queue but will take a couple of days to finish. I'd like to be able to get the rest of the blurays ripped while waiting

So - can I safely rip using MakeMKV, while handbrake is encoding? Just want to check there shouldn't be any issues around introducing errors in the rips or encodes etc.

I'll be ripping to the same drive that the encodes are using as the source, and the encoding is writing to a different drive. MakeMKV always seems limited to 2x read speed on my panasonic drive too, so hard disc activity shouldn't be too heavy.

Hi and welcome mrklaw,

I don't see a problem here. :)

I have done it a few times - there's no reason it should introduce any errors as long as your hard drives are fine.
