i'm having a problem with my remuxing process.
i want to rempeg movie only onto dvd.
have done this successfully on 2 other movies, but haven't had luck on Bond - Only live twice, world is not
enough, octopussy. i have sporadic success on rempeging. let me describe my step-by-step:
dvd's are single angle.
problem: freezes every chapter or two
plays fine on powerdvd
plays fine on windvd
dvd on standalone...picture freezes every chapter or two. if can hit fast-forward, then play and the movie
keeps on playing. seems like it gets stuck and needs a push...then it's fine...until the next hill (chapter).
here's my process:
SmartRipper - files mode
rip the following:
video_ts.ifo
video_ts.bup
video_ts.vob (if exists)
vts_0x_0.ifo
vts_0x_0.bup
vts_0x_0.vob
vts_0x_1-5.vob
ReMpeging
create CFFL file for Rempeg2
import CFFL into Rempeg2
Options tab:
output resolution = 720x480
Frame mode = match source
Search technique = prediction (have also tried gradient, no go)
Performance = reference DCT
set bitrate slide
Main tab:
encode as .m2v file into main vob directory
ifoedit
open vts_0x_0.ifo
vob extras:
remux
stripstreams
correct vob-unit
correct ifo tables
create new ifo's
destination directory is: main vob directory / VIDEO_TS
add .m2v file in remux box
ok
quit
ifoedit
open new vts_01_0.ifo file in VIDEO_TS directory
get vts_sectors
ok, ok, ok, ok
quit
Burn with GEAR
dvd-video setting
point to VIDEO_TS directory
burn at 1x on Pioneer A03 (primary on secondary IDE)
have done various changes to the above, like:
-only checking "remux" in ifoedit, then doing the rest on a second pass at the vts_0x_1.ifo
-merged all vob's and imported into rempeg2
-final step: open video_ts.ifo in ifoedit and change title 1: title set starting sector from 6 to 19 in the VMG_PTT_SRPT page. (someone suggested doing this to help GearDVD import it. i've tried with the 6 and the 19 and neither make a difference...both are able to import into gear.
i'm sure it's just one single checkbox somewhere that will be the answer.
should i run the whole this through ifoedit's "disc image" process...would that stop the freezing.
should i run a "get vts sectors" right after i rip with smartripper...then complete my process?
Thanks for taking a look.
