Audio Sync Errors When Deleting Ads.
Im getting audio sync errors when I delete the ads from a movie that I recorded from television.
I have tried Virtualdub and tried Video to video editor , both cause the same problem. Are there any free programs that can do this without sync errors ? when the people talk in the film , you can see that the audio is out of sync with their lips.
Are ther any other free programs that can do this without sync errors ?

it is in MTS created by TEAC settopbox (MPEG video , MPEG audio ).

I do not mind what container outcome it will be as long as I have no sync errors

Are you sure about that?

The MTS file extension is usually associated with AVC video, not MPEG video. The container is an MPEG transport stream container, but this says nothing about the formats of the streams.

The reason I ask is that you have to use very different procedures for cutting out ads depending if your video is MPEG2 or AVC. For MPEG2 TS video I recommend Project-X, and for AVC a tool called TS-Doctor does a nice job (not free, though).

Is there an "asking the same question in two forums" rule, or expected forum cross-posting etiquette?

I ask, as I think a link would be nice so information isn't duplicated between forums, and if a suggested solution is tested and ruled out in forum A, the posters in forum B won't waste time repeating the process.

Most cutters ignore the associated timing, and expect (out of sheer lazyness of the programmers) that all timecodes will run consecutively from top to bottom. When these are disrupted, which is the case of commercial breaks, almost all of them trim the audio badly.

If your programme is SDTV the only software that I know to solve this issues is ProjectX in demux mode ONLY.

There is also another, more labor intensive way, using tsmuxer, at GOP margins, each fragment at its time, then rejoin them. Make sure the programme is included but no commercial is there (you may have to drop the last GOP of the useful programme to save the timing).
