Hello everyone,
So I'm desperately trying to transfer the contents of The Office season 8 discs to my hard drive. I purchased them from Amazon and would like to get them stored on my hard drive for travel. I'm using MakeMKV, but the discs are flipper discs (have the DVD on one side and blu-ray on the other). On my HP BT10N slim blu-ray drive, none of the discs work. MakeMKV recognizes them but when I try to transfer the titles, it gives me an error "device busy". If I use AnyDVD the drive goes into a loop of the head searching back and forth and it spinning up and down repeatedly. With the hope of preventing unnecessary wear on my drive I don't let this go on for more than a minute or so before I give up and eject the disc. Thus, I transferred absolutely nothing from the discs using the HP drive.
I then purchased an LG WH14NS40 because I figured the firmware on my existing drive was not advanced enough to read the double sided discs (knowing that it had read double sided DVDs in the past, and hundreds of single sided blurays). The LG works intermittently with these discs (it is not a drive problem, I've used it to transfer a multitude of single-sided blurays successfully). Some titles transfer, others cause MakeMKV to hang up and freeze for hours on end while the drive sits idle, and I often get errors reading from particular sectors. One of the discs in the set read completely with no errors.
I tried using ISOPuzzle, but it transferred only 60MB in 20 minutes and it was causing a lot of wear on my drive, and was not eager to keep using it and wear out the drive.
Does anyone have any particular suggestions for me? I'm guessing I'm pretty much SOL on this front. There are downloads available online that are BRrips of this season of The Office, so there must be a drive capable of ripping the episodes, but I do not know of its existence, nor it's model. I am not interested in buying a bluray player that will connect to my television, nor am I interested in downloading compressed rips of these episodes.
Thanks in advance for any help!
