Encoding causing cheap motherboard failure!?!

Hey guys, my Asrock B75M-GL just died after i've stressed it out few weeks with heavy Avsp filtering and encoding like 10 hours every day, ~70% cpu usage. I suspect a vrm failure.
This isn't exactly low end, but like all cheap motherboards, it doesn't have quality phases/mosfets or any included heatsinks.
I'm disappointed i had to upgrade my i3 machine, which i've only used for 2 years on hd movie playback; and encoding like few hours/month a set of cartoons. This isn't extreme usage at all imo.

I $hate upgrading often, so do i really need overclock designed hardware to be future-proof?
Did you guys ever woke up in the morning to a failed mobo after a heavy encoding day? I really wonder if this is frequent or i was just unlucky. On the other hand, i'm aware of the planned obsolescence and that the damn board deceased exactly one month after the warranty. :|:mad:

Failure to your machine could be for several reasons, or by using a power supply of poor quality (not certified), common problems in the electrical service or the brand of your motherboard. I had a ASRock 4coreDX90-VSTA and I lasted more than three years but its damage think it was combination of failures in electric service, problems with a cable to the power source and delicate are these motherboards.

You should seek advice on choosing your new machine, that is, according to what you want to do with it, including overclocking.

One thing you can be sure: this unfortunate incident will not be discouraged to continue filtering videos, no matter how many hours you take.

I recently had a mid-range MSI mobo burn out on me. It was used to crunch day and night BOINC projects so it was constantly stressed. The mobo was previously used in my desktop but lasted for a year crunching non-stop. I came home one day only to smell burned out electronics in my apartment. A tiny resistor had burned out and filled my place with this distinctive smell of burnt electronics.

These things happen, especially if you put too much constant stress like day-long encoding sessions or, in my case, crunching for BOINC day and night. This incident won't stop me from buying MSI stuff as it happens with all brands
