My Computer seemds to be having problems with cce 2.5. When DVD2SVCD gets to this part it seems to work ok the encoding starts and seems to be running but cce sp is not responding. (when you hit control alt delete. you can see it is not responding)
What I am wondering is could it be my computer with this via chip set. I have an AMD Athlon 1ghz
MB is a mb810lr (www.pcchips.com.tw)
Ram 384k pc133
OS Win ME
What I am confused on is that most of the stuff I have found on this says if you are runnig win 2000 you can have this problem, but i have ME.
Should I do like the below message or will this cause me more problems.
Q34:"BeerGrave" - I had the problem, that CCE freezes in several stages. Not only CCE but W2KSp2, too. I have all suggestions done, including the recommend swap-space (now 768 MB). Nothing helps. But now I had read on http://www.asuscom.de that W2k can not handle swap-space on VIA based Motherboards using a Athlon or Duron CPU correctly. For help, they offer this patch:
AMD W2K Patch
A: This has not been tested by dvd2svcd but it sounds like it would "do no harm" as it is an official AMD patch for W2k. Feedback in forum is appreciated.

What about the remaining time CCE writes? Is it decreasing? If it decreases, all is ok, the TaskManager often said that 'hard working' tasks are not responding.

Yes it seems to keep encoding the time is running down and the % is increasing. It finished 1 part that went for about 3 1/2 hours and now it is encoding another part that is about 10 hours. So I guess it is still working. Just seems weird why the main part stops working. Any ideals on this.

If the time and file size are moving CCE is working despite what task manager says. If it is locked for any length of time it is the well known CCE freeze issue and you should do a search on it here and in the advanced forum. It has been well covered.
Task manager is saying that it isn't responding to it's commands and this is normal because CCE has no time to accept commands.
