First of all, hello from another (long absent) video-encoding enthusiast. :)

I wanted to post this on AviDemux's forum, but the registrations are closed there so this forum is my best bet - I hope the thread will be noticed by "the right people" and therefore serve its point.

I miss two useful features in new AviDemux (version 2.6.8), seen in other programs, that I hope can someday be added/put back to it. The first one is the option to seek to a specific frame in video by imputing it's number in a status bar field instead of using timebase to seek to the actual position - the new AviDemux lost this feature over stable, 2.5 version. The second feature I miss is the one seen in VirtualDubMod - a status bar indicator of the current frame's position within a file, shown in kilobytes. It is very useful before simple tasks like cutting or (plain) editing, as you can precisely see how many megabytes a certain scene has, and therefore find out how much you can reduce file size by cutting it away (or how big it would be when separated from the film).

The other things useful to have (but probably not easy to implement) would be some sort of bitrate indicator for current position within a file, or even better - an indicator of a current frame's quantizer (for MPEG-4 ASP/AVC).

Thank you all for your time, I hope I offered suggestions interesting to other members too. :)
