Hi all,
I have seen a DTSHD MA 7.1 file, but the channels are not discreet.
The Core is 5.1 but in Scenarist it is recognized as 7.1.
Is there a way to make a pseudo-7.1 from 5.1 discreet files?
Does anyone know how?
Thanks,

I never see that. Can you upload a sample? First 10 MB can be enough.

Thanks, but how can I split the .dtshd file?
I tried to import it to the DTS Encoder tools and split it or trim it
and it says "Editing DTS Express encoded stream is not supported".
How can I trim it for you to see it?
Is there any other info I can send you?

Does the DTS-HD audio stream XLL mean anything?

You can use a Hex Editor.
If you have VirtualDub go to Tools -> Hex editor
Or you can download the free HxD (http://www.mh-nexus.de)
I tried to import it to the DTS Encoder tools and split it or trim it and it says "Editing DTS Express encoded stream is not supported".
Maybe is a DTS Express but I never see a 7.1
Does the DTS-HD audio stream XLL mean anything?
"The technology specification embodies various modes and extensions, one of which is XLL, an extension for lossless audio coding."

Well, I downloaded both but I am not sure how to export the file.
I did, but when I tried to import it to Scenarist or MUI generator
I got an error "Failed to read a DWORD from the DTS-HD stream file".
Can you tell me the procedure?
Also, see here the file properties inside Scenarist.
Maybe it can help.

To export a binary file from HxD you can load the .dtshd and follow this guide from step 4:
How to use HxD as a Disk Editor to save Sectors as Binary Files (http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/StarManSaveSectors.htm)
The complete guide show how load Sectors of hard disk but you can go to step 4 to save the binary selection of the first 10000000 bytes from your .dtshd in a new file.
You don't need import the file in nothing, only upload it (in http://www.sendspace.com/ for instance).
When you cut the dtshd the last frame is incomplete and can be rejected for authoring soft.

All is ok in the first 15 seconds of your sample:
DTS Master Audio, 7.1 channels, 24 bits, 48kHz
(core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 48kHz)
is decoded fine by ArcSoft to a 7.1 24bits 48 KHz wav file.
The 'core' is extracted ok like a DTS, 5.1 channels, 0:00:15, 1509kbps, 48kHz without errors.
The Property in Scenarist is also ok
The 'core' (Attribute) is 5.1 discrete (the core don't suport 7.1), like a standard lossy DTS
The Extension (XLL) supply the new channels until 7.1 and the info to convert the lossy 'core' in lossless.
All seems fine, at least in the first 15 seconds.
What is your problem?
What you need do with this DTS-HD?

Thanks!
All I wanted to know is if it has 7.1 discreet channels because I tried to export it to 8 wavs but it was impossible.
All I was getting was 6 channels. The core.
So there is NO way to have 7.1 without having as source 8discreet files. That's all I need to know.

Try eac3to with Arcsoft decoder, or MakeMkv with the dtsdecoderdll.dll from ArcSoft.
Like I say I decoded to 7.1 wav the first 15 sec. from your sample.
