Help, I'm unable to make an SVCD with DVD2SVCD that will fast forward and rewind on my stand alone DVD player. (phillips 703) I have make VCD's that will work fine, but with DVD2SVCD it doesn't work.

It will work on my computer using Power DVD.

I have used NERO and CDRWin for burning, and have tried:

1. Burning the .cue file
2. Burning the .mpg file
3. Using and not using Title and Change CD pics.
4. Audio downsampling and No downsampling.

Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

Thanks,
BWilder

After being directed to the FAQ, (which didn't answer my question) I eventually
found the answer to my question.

The "fast forward/reversre" problem is with most of the Phillips DVD players. (They
won't fast forward scvd) It would have been nice to get a simple answer. Oh well,
I didn't really need those hours of searching and night after night DVD2SVCD tests that never worked.

I thought I'd pass along the thread that addresses this, so the next poor sap
doesn't waste 2 weeks of his life on an unfixable problem.

I have had lots of problems with fast forward, rewind and movie time display my Philips (DVD750) but the right combination of software seems to have solved most of them.
Using dvd2svcd 1.07b with CCE encoding and VCDXBuild bin/cue creation, I get chapters that I can ffwd to, but choosing any slow or fast speed will stop the movie, and I get no time.
Choosing VCDImager, I get an svcd that has fast and slow forward etc. It also shows the time (I have not been able to check if this is the correct time - probably not).
Btw I use Nero latest build to burn the bin/cue sets at 40 speed (Plextor) and have had no problems playing the svcd's.

DrFruit, I tried both vcdimager (with tscv, vcdeasy, dvd2svcd, etc.)and vcdxbuild (with dvd2svcd) on my Philips 751 (firmware 7.22) and I got the same results: ff/rw does not work. The only way to get it work is to make an svcd shorter than 40 minutes.

Timecode displays only of PBC is off.

Opposite experiences are welcome,
