I have installed the QuickTime Plugin v2.6 by fccHandler in order to open QT Movs. Unfortunately Virtual Dub does not open the ProRes Files, (missing APCH Codec), although QT-Component ist correctely installed on my Windows 7 System.
What can I do to be able to open a QT ProRes File directely in Virtual Dub 1.10.4?

Get the FFmpeg input driver (http://forums.virtualdub.org/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=22269&st=0#entry95795). The most easy way will be to install the FFMpeg inputdriver plugin for VirtualDub (thanks to dloneranger).
You can find it here (please try with version V0813):
http://sourceforge.net/projects/virtualdubffmpeginputplugin/files/?source=navbar
Installation means : unzip FFInputDriver.vdplugin into the plugins32 folder of your VirtualDub installation + unzip the *.dll files into plugins32\ffdlls
After that, start VirtualDub, click File > Open. In the "Open video file"-dialogbox do select the AVI and at "Files of type" do select "FFMPeg supported files". Finally click onto the Open-button.
Once the video is open, you can click File > File Information... to see which video- and audio-decoders have been used.
