For many years we have been using the Sony BAE - PH1000 blu-ray disc emulator, which has been a fantastic asset to our QC team. Unfortunately the time has come to replace it, but it seems Sony no-longer sells this player.

Does anyone know any good alternatives; I have been looking into android stream media players, which apparently can playback DVD/BD image files.
Example:

Has anyone had experience with these players? Are they good enough for runtime and menu nav QC?

Thanks

From time to time they appear on eBay. For peanuts considering how insanely expensive they were originally.

There are plenty of hardware media players out there that can play DVD/BD (.iso) image files via USB connected HDD's or over an SMB connected network.

Whilst most of them will be able to play 'full disc' DVD .iso back-ups complete with menus. Very few will be able to offer play back of 'full disc' BRD .iso back-ups with menus. Especially if the menus are Java based... So be careful ;)
