View Full Version : DTS Converting to Stereo

I have a 5.1 DTS WAV file and a coresponding .cue file that I have used IMGBurn to a CD-R. However, what I end up with is a CD with stereo audio that also appears to be of very poor quality (slight distortions audible etc.). The .cue file does split the audio into the appropriate tracks...but the disk is recognized by my player as a simple audio CD...and appears to have lost all of the DTS data.

I have read another thread on this forum that speaks about a "header" file of some sort that might be at fault...however all the links to the resources and suggested "header" correction are broken and outdated...so I could not attempt to do the suggested changes.

Would appreciate any help. My DTS player is actually my Acura TL. I have confirmed that the original file is 5.1 DTS via playback on my PC and viewing media specs via VLC player.

Thanks in advance.

The 5.1Ch DTS.wav header file can be found here (https://www.sendspace.com/file/l5yhg6).

The 6.1Ch DTS.wav header file can be found here (https://www.sendspace.com/file/e3s5zf).

EDIT: By-the-way... You could have asked for this within the original how can I burn *.dts to audio CD (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=170186) topic...

Cheers

Thanks...it worked! And with these forums having so many rules...I figured I would either get yelled at for not posting under the Newbies section or for not posting in the older thread.

I took my chances.

Cheers.
