Hi,

I'd like to know if Nandub will use an ECF-file in first pass. I read a hint in Gordian Knot about 3 pass encoding, there is stated that you can do a second 1st pass with the ECF-file generated by GKnot. AFAIK no SBC-setting takes effect in 1st pass.
Can anybody give some info?

Thanks

Ok, less beer and more thinking could have prevented the previous post.
I did 2 first passes without ecf file. The stats files only differ at one byte. Then I did another first pass with an ecf file. The stats file is different now at some degree. You can also see where the keyframes are in first pass by watching the video tab in the status view. In a first pass without ecf there are no keyframes visible.

first of all the ecf generated by gknot is pracitally useless. secondly i think you should redo the first pass if you are using a ecf because it might help ndub know where to insert kf that the ecf stats and remove them from other areas
