I am trying to convert DVD to SVCD using DVD2SVCD on
Athlon 1Ghz, Asus A7V133, 128MB RAM, with CCE2.5.
I am not using IVTC,VFAPI, DeInterlacing nor TemporalSmoother.
CCE is set at Multipass 2.
CCE is not getting faster than Factor 0.05 which means about 30 hours (according to CCE) for a 1h30min Video.

Thats far too slow, what can I do ?
Thanks for your help !

Not unusual. I have a similar config and get similar speed. Check your memory Commit Charge in Task Manager. When CCE is running, I usually have 310 MB, instead of the usual 100 MB which means the system is continuously swapping and consumer a lot of kernel time (shown in red).

CCE 2.5 barely runs on 128 meg of Ram - Ram is cheap - throw in another 128 stick of Ram and you will see a big improvement in speed

Allright, thank you very much for your help. The problem is solved and I can't believe what I was experiencing:
Win2k, DVD2SVCD, Asus A7V133 Mainboard, Athlon 1GHz, 128MB PC133 SDRAM.
Encoding with CCE gave me an encoding rate of 0.05 (see previous posting). After adding another 256MB memory module it rose to 0.87 !!! Just like that !
That sounds quite good to me !
I can't believe it. How is CCE coded, that such a difference is possible ???

Anyway, thanks for your suggestions !
