For NeroAAC, Media Info says
Channel(s) : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE
For QAAC, Media Info says
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Channel(s)_Original : 6 channels
Channel positions : Front: L C R, Side: L R, LFE
Why Channels is 2, what does it mean?

It means QAAC downmixed to stereo.

It means QAAC downmixed to stereo.
I don't think so. Waveform displays 6 channels. Also bitrate is too big for stereo audio.
It has to be different thing.

Co-incidentally, I had a similar discussion in another thread very recently and it turns out QAAC is not alone. fdkaac.exe and fhgaacenc.exe do exactly the same thing. It's probably Nero which doesn't follow the "rules", even though the rules mightn't make sense.
It's just an MP4/M4A thing anyway. If you open a file encoded by QAAC/FDKAAC/FhGAAC with MKVMergeGUI and remux it as an MKA, you'll find when you look at the MKA with MediaInfo, it only reports 6 channels (no channels_original field). The obsolete MP4 flags aren't retained.
