every 2 or 3 months i have to format my computer for some stupid reason; so can someone recommend a program to backup my computer to cds.

u may want to try norton ghost.

But another way of bacing up your hard drives is creating copys of all important files (mp3's, warez, work....) and all the applications that are old just deleate them and update them when you reinstall everything. This is a great way of "fresh starting" your pc. I usualy do this ever 3-6 months. But after trying win2k there realy is no need.

Hello

I have used with very good result a package called
"Drive Image", from www.powerquest.com , it does
an exact copy of my HD in compressed format
you can fit 1.3 Gigabytes in an 80 minutes CD.
