View Full Version : The Matrix Chapters 28-32 Benchtest

15th February 2002, 06:34
I thought DDogg's suggestion about bench marking with chapters 28-32 was such a good idea I went ahead and knocked it out. Not too hard either since it only took 57 minutes 56 seconds for me to complete.

I have the following gear:
AMD AXIA 1333 (not overclocked, Default memory timing)
Abit KT7A 133
Promise FastTrack 100 Raid Controller card
2 IBM 75GXP 30Gig HDD's in a RAID 0 Stripe
384 megs of Crucial PC-133

My speed was like the following:
CCE_Video_Information_File.vaf 1.126 to 1.237
CCE_Encoded_Video_NTSC.mpv 1.232 to 1.241

Here is my log file so you all can see the config I used (basicly default) so you can do the test exactly on your setup.

If I remember correctly D2S added the timestamps when we were having a similar discussion many moons ago. There was talk about D2S becoming an ultimate benchmark as it used so many of the processes. I would think it a low priority for D2S but eventually something may come of it.

I remember we talked about how to create an overall artificial benchmark number that would mean something. What I mean by that is a number that would condense each process ans well as an overall benchmark number. That is where it was left as there were SO many thing with a higher priority as there are now.
