Mp3 Transcoding Parameters Help

What is the difference between using DOOM9's transoding parameters (custom parameters in GKNOT) as compared to using the default parameters? Is it really necessary to use his parameters? What does it do? Anyone help me please?

to find out what one of the switches does you can open up the besweet gui and check and uncheck all the boxes till that switch appears :)

Doom9 can speak for himself -- but I'll give you my interpretation of his recommendation anyway. :eek:

He recommends installing a more modern version of Lame than the one in the Gknot package. This is because at Lame 3.9, a set of tested presets were created to improve sound quality. "--alt-preset nnn" is not available in the older Lame in the Gknot package.

It produces an ABR of similar size to the default. It takes more encoding time, but sounds better both to the Lame developers, and to Doom9.
