Damn its tough. I resized to 520x234, IVTC, and 700 Kbps and the video stream alone is 770 MB. anyone have suggestions for this flick?
(BTW I did not rip vob 7 as its just credits and fbi warning.

Hi-Someone else will have to help you with the settings, but that's one real strange resolution you have there. How'd you come up with that one? You should use Gordian Knot at least to get the proper crop-resolution for the movie. In addition, most Hollywood movies don't have to be IVTC'd. Is there any particular reason you didn't use Force Film in DVD2AVI?

OK Now I will edicate you as to proper aspect ratio. A monitor is 1.25:1 , a movie is 16:9

therefor , if all was 1:1 lets tryout 640. 640 WOULD use 360, except because or the 1.25:1 monitor ratio, you must divide by 1.25. 360/ 1.25 is 288
there for 640x288 is properaspect.

Now for 520, where 520= 16 and the bottom = 9, we will divide 520/16 then multiply X 9, that gives us our 16x9 lower number which is 292.5.

Now if our monitor was 1:1 it would be 520x292.5 however we must divide the bottom by 1.25. Therefor we get 520x234 to achieve proper aspect. I don't need no gordian knot when I got basic grade 8 algebra.

Anywho, I resized it a little smaller and noticed somehting strange,
500x225, now the file is almost 200 MB smaller at the same encoding settings and bitrate. Could that little amount really account for that huge difference ?

And yes, this movie does need to be IVTC if you think othwerwise then you dont know too much. I did check the frames and it definately DID need IVTC, this is advanced nandub forum, and I am advanced user.

Thx fo the heads up. I Assumed (Without checking) that it was standard 16:9. My bad. For 16x9 however my math is sound... hehe

As for IVTC in nandub, why is that bad ?
Could you suggest a better way to IVTC it ? Im using dvd2avi vfapi methed for frameserving. Is there a better app for IVTC that i can frameserv into, that in turn frameservs back into nandub @ ther new lower framerate ?

Hi-Since what I said was correct, and much of what you said (except for the grade school algebra lesson, which has nothing to do with choosing a proper resolution) was wrong, I think an apology might be in order. Then I'll be happy to give you some tips.

It is standard 16:9 by the way. And choose Force Film in DVD2AVI and create your VFAPI from the resulting .d2v. And maybe read some of Doom9's guides.

its 1.85 to 1

16 x9 is 1.78 : 1.
