i have figured out how to load each vob into WinDVD, but can 't figure out how to load the video_ts.ifo file and play the whole movie...with all chapters.

i hear windvd is a better testing app than powerdvd. trying to test prior to burning.

thanks.

Put the VIDEO_TS folder in the root of the drive, for instance D:\VIDEO_TS. It should stary playing upon opening WinDVD.

i did...no luck.

i'm using an external 111gig firewire drive (drive h).
maybe since it's firewire, it won't recognize it.

Ah, didn't realize it was you. So since you aren't a newbie I'm sure you have tried changing the default DVD drive in WinDVD? And what happens if you copy just the first vob onto C:\VIDEO_TS along with the ifo and bups?

didn't want to wait for the copying if there was a better way.
thanks.

close windvd
open windvd

dvd plays off external firewire.
