Continuing the locked thread..
Up to at least 2.40, SR still rips from the HD just fine. You don't have to do a full backup copy (i.e. with all of the other junk VOBs), you just need the main VOBs & the one IFO, and the VIDEO_TS.IFO (I normally just create a 0-byte dummy file for VIDEO_TS.IFO). It seems that SR checks for the presence of this file before seeing the "DVD".
Question: Under Win9x, I create a 0-byte file by "rem > dummy.file". That doesn't work in XP. Is there a way to do this under XP's commandline, or must I use something like Notepad to create a 1-byte file?
