Hi all,

sorry if this has been answered before but I couldn't find it.

I have an IG for TopMenu, and the last minute my client needs to do some changes. Nothing special, just some text changes.

I have everything ready in Scenarist, all button commands, dummy and duplicate buttons where needed etc. Its a fully working BD.
Now, If I try to replace my IG with the new one, it makes a mess.
All my duplicate buttons are gone, any new buttons I added are gone and in general its easier to reauthor it
rather than try to figure how to fix it.

Is there a way to replace an IG and keep everything in place?
Is there a way to create a Template and only changing/importing new assets, like it's very easy to do with Scenarist SD and Place Holders?

Thanks!

When you say 'replace an IG', do you mean just importing a new Designer file? If that's the case, make certain your layer names are exactly the same, and in the exact same order as the original Designer file. If you've renamed buttons/BOGs/anything in the IG after importing the original Designer file (including just capitalizing something), either change back to the original name, or change the layers in Photoshop to reflect the new names.

Dummy buttons need to have at least one command in them or the may be deleted (not sure if that was ever fixed).
And you need to be on the latest pre-3D version of Scenarist (deleting buttons not present in the Designer file was a bug fixed at some point toward the end of the 2D development... Not sure exactly what version, but it's not a problem on the latest (5.3.2)).

Yes, that's exactly what I needed!

Thanks!

It is safer to update every single page rather than the full IG. Especially if you edit only single pages and not every page in your IG. Buttons without any command will be deleted (if not present in the Designer file) but a simple "NOP" is just enough to keep the button.
