Are you on a dynamic IP? If so, you might consider using a service like this one: http://dyn.com/dns/
They do offer a free option and have a utility you can run to keep the IP updated if it changes so whatever the host name is, it's kept up to date. You can also use this on a router that supports dynamic DNS.

Yeah, the IPs are dynamic, and there is a service like dyndns in place. forum.doom9.org is only an alias for the dynamic dns service address. But if, say for instance, the dynamic address doesn't get updated (maybe the deamon crashed), then we're still pointing to the wrong address.
