Benchmarking script for linux?

Does anyone know a benchmarking script that tests the server's CPU speed when video encoding in x264 for linux?

For a simple benchmark, what do you need more than running x264 with your usual settings and a suitable test clip?

x264 prints out the average FPS at the of the encode by default, which is the number (or "score") you can use to compare different systems.

Of course you may wish to run several encoding passes on each system and then take the average, in order to rule out outliers.
