Been awhile since I have posted, but I was wondering why you have to be connected to internet in order to run DVD Rebuilder Pro after it has been installed? Just curious, thanks.

you don't. It only needs to connect once to retrieve the license file from the key server. That's it.

I had my computer disconnected from internet, had a DVD burned to hard drive and tried to use DVD Rebuilder. The process went through vts_13 and then the main window disappeared. The HC icon appeared at the bottom of the task bar, done about 2 or 3 passes then it closed out. Went to my work folder and found some files but the output folder was empty. Tried two more times with same results. Then reconnected back to internet and had no problem. Thought that was strange.

Something is wrong somewhere. Just tried it again, allowed overall progress to get about 19% completed, disconnected internet and overall progress continued to 23%. I then aborted, deleted files in work folder, disconnected from internet and tried same process. As before after vts_13 in progress pane, main menu shut down while the HC icon appeared in task bar for very short time then closed.

It seems you have some sort of issue in your system. Does it happen with every disc.

Have tried new burn with Windows 7 and had same results, Rebuilder shuts down. I have an older XP pc, installed DVD Rebuilder on it to test and same thing, when connected to internet it works but will not work when disconnected. I doubt both machines have the same issues. Yes I did download from Jdobbs. I guess I can uninstall and try again but since I just downloaded and installed on XP system I doubt it will make any difference. Just wondering if anyone has tried Rebuilder disconnected or is everyone assuming it should work, thanks.

Some of the overly zealous AV packages love to interfere with your applications.

COMODO is particularly hostile to DVD-RB.

Thanks jdobbs, I am running BitDefender, Ill try to figure it out. If I disable and then try, that should tell me if its the antivirus shouldn't it? Thanks again.

Thanks again.Just from the experience of others who have reported similar issues -- disabling doesn't seem to always work. I'd say remove it to see if it is the problem. You can always reinstall.
