Hi,
I'm searching several picture stablizer filters for VirtualDub!
I want to capture some movies to create SVCDs but If I compress them I get blocks in the picutes. If I encode DVD's with the same settings I get a very nice SVCD.
So I think that this problem is caused by the analog capturing.
I have searches over google but all Links I found were down.
can someone of you send me a link or a file to a picture stablizer filter???

I don't understand what having blocks in your encoding has to do with a picture stabiliser filter. Probably your capture is very noisy and bits are being wasted encoding the noise. If that is the case, wouldn't you want smoothing filters?

The mainproblem are the blocks or mosaics after encoding a captured video.
I don't think that it is a problem of CCE because if I encode a DVD with the same settings I get a wonderful SVCD in DVD quality.
So the problem must come from capturing.
If I have a look at the black 16:9 stripes they consists out of several other colors. I think this is the reason why CCE can't work correct.
Have uploaded 2 Frames. The first befor encoding as MPEG2 and the second after:
1: http://www.geocities.com/hallodu2000/CCE/avi.html
2: http://www.geocities.com/hallodu2000/CCE/mpeg.html
Now I'm searching any way to fix this problem...
Thanks for your help!

Have you tried using decomb as your deinterlacer?

decomb??
No, I always use the VirtualDub own deinterlacer in blend fields together mode.
Where can I get decomb? Have searched for it but can't find any useful result.

maybe you should try smartdeinterlace before you try decomb.
http://sauron.mordor.net/dgraft/smart.html
It will give you better results than just blending, and the result should be easier to compress.

Thanks, the quality is a bit better with the deinterlace-filter!
Not perfect, but I think if I play a little bit more with the settings it will be OK (TV isn't so sharp so I can see the blocks).
What is the difference between smartdeinterlace and decomb?

>What is the difference between smartdeinterlace and decomb?
Decomb is a package really intended to clean up telecined video (that includes PAL phase-shifted video and other weird aperiodic sequences as well as classical telecining). It has a deinterlacer (FieldDeinterlace) but it is optimized for its role as a postprocessor to the progressive frame recovery process. It can be used standalone for deinterlacing pure interlaced video, but it does not have all the options that SmartDeinterlacer has. It is quite adequate, however, for many applications.
If your source material is telecined, you should be using Decomb instead of SmartDeinterlacer as it will almost always give you better results.
