Hi all. Sorry if this has been asked before, but how does BDRB handle 50GB 3D discs -> 25GB? Does it keep 3D in tact etc? Any special settings or options? Can you keep menus + extras? Many thanks!

it doesn't (yet). the 3D SSIF folder is simply ignored for the moment and it creates a 2D backup. There is currently no other way to backup a 3D disc than rip to iso and burn that iso straight back to disc. DVDFab likes to CLAIM they support it but the few times i've tried it, in 90% of the cases it failed to complete due to some filter error and the few times it DID complete the movie was riddled with artefacts and unwatchable or simply stopped playing video at some point while audio continued to run.

+1 Ch3vr0n for DVDFab, same problems.
But actually, I use the FRIMEncoder and I have remux and shrink a BD3D with succes for 3 movies. And in good quality.

You can do 3D backups of the movie only as SBS, O/U or Anaglyphs with BD-RB.

For interleaved BD compliant format you may want to try FRIMEncoder and the new tsMuxeR , or wait a little until you get everything with DB-RB.

It's coming soon.

Thanks all. Nice to see features are coming!

I can't wait either. I've got about 3-400 GB worth of 3d iso rips now. Being able to shrink those and even burn them to disc would free up some serious amount of space on the hard drive.

I must say that I am the person who is waiting for this
feature most of all! Just for a ghost of support for your hard work on this unique feature, 10$ on it's way..:o

we might also see support for DTS Express, since tsmuxer can handle this track as of 2.4.1

we might also see support for DTS Express, since tsmuxer can handle this track as of 2.4.1 I've tested the DTS Express feature with BD-RB and it works great. Unfortunately v2.4.1 has the "PES packet len > 100MB" error that keeps popping up (I've seen it on three different discs from my standard test set now). The error disappears with the exact same source and META file using v1.10.6. That doesn't make me feel very confident -- and I'd have to disable the multiprocessing feature (http://www.jdobbs.net/freeware/multiprocessing.html) to use it. I'm still testing to see if there are any other anomalies.

Here's just an idea, but if it cannot be avoided then perhaps it could be fine by disabling multi process automatically if bdrb detects a3d rebuild and pops up some sort of dialog window to notify the user and it also leave an entry in the log. That could be a temporary solution till that error can be fixed or you find a solution to it.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4That's probably how I'll have to do it. I'd have to also disable it if the source had DTS Express. Another alternative is to keep both TSMUXER versions and only use v2.4.1 if the source has DTS Express or is 3D. That may be preferable -- as there may be other as-yet undetected bugs in v2.4.1+ that might surface after release. I'd really like to use the newer one, though. It's a lot cleaner than switching back-and-forth.

Jdobbs, did you notify Roman about the problems you are encountering. I ran into a problem with new tsmuxer if B-Pyramid is detected and DTS is moved 2 frames and for me it breaks 3D playback as well. Yes that include standalone player as well but I can play individual M2ts file for base view just fine or If I create 2D it work for me as well in that case.

well one thing is sure. If you get it to work, i'll do some serious 3D rebuilding tests :)

I posted it in the TSMUXER thread.

jdobbs, you might want to copy your error report post and send it via PM to Roman. The thread is getting long and it is possible he might not see it.

Good Idea, I do this all the time as well. However I may post problem Jdobbs experience as well. Extract Jdobbs post from tsmuxer thread and post it on his behalf along with my problem and send PM to Roman.

Done, I took post located here http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1656451#post1656451 and send to Roman with my problem appended to it. Via first class PM :D Don't worry I separate with user name so he knows which report belong to which user.
