Is it possible to have MakeMKV just rip without muxing to MKV?

I am trying to rip a problematic set of episodic DVDs in order to create decent encodes out of them. Someone suggested me to try MakeMKV which seems to have done a fine job. Muxing everything back into MKVs, however, means a departure from my usual workflow adding unnecessary extra steps to it. Is there a way to make MakeMKV just spit out the .IFOs, .VOBs and the chapter info, like a regular rip wth, say, DVDDecrypter does?



[edit] As an aside: once a disc has been ripped in file mode, can it still be possible to encode the individual episodes (and getting their chapter points and subtitles) from it?

You may able to achieve your task, if full backup option is used. It has been while since I used it.

Of course not cause it's called MakeMKV. DVD Decrypter is outdated, used DVDFab instead.

Like HWK says, full backup mode should work. It has worked for me for Blu-ray, don't know if DVD is also supported. Give it a try I guess.

MakeMKV can output original files with just encryption removed by using it from command line:
makemkvcon backup --decrypt disc:0 FOLDER

What does EXACTLY mean problematic?
DVDDecrypter should work with series most of the times.
If not, there are always alternatives, freeware (like the copy module of DVDFab) or payware (like AnyDVD). I never used DVDFab nor AnyDVD since so far I could not find a DVD that I could not rip with freeware, be it Disney, Sony or whatever. One-click solutions have the fundamental disadvantage that they have to supply the brain that lacks the user, and therefore they need to be updated to take the newest DVDs into account.
