Hi everyone,
I have been given a FULL HD Uncompressed file 25p and I need to convert it to PAL SD Uncompressed.
Can someone please tell me what kind of software you use to do such conversions?
I have tried QT but the output is not good at all.
I am using MAC if it helps.
Thank you in advance.

I don't use mac, however I normally use avisynth to scale hd to sd and use virtual dub to save final output in lossless compression.
I am not sure of options you have for mac, if you can access windows pc then it may be possible.

Thank you HKW!
I can gain access to PC but I'll need detailed instructions of how to do it.
Can you please tell me how?
Thanks!

If on mountain lion, there is a droplet "animation (resize to anamorphic PAL, copy audio)" in ffdrop14 (currently beta) which does something like that (or script it to your preferences using some other ffmpeg lossless tech), see my sig.

Thanks smok3!
I am on Snow Leopard.
Isn't there a way to make it work on SL?

try some older versions to get older compile of ffmpeg (The droplet should work as is);

Thanks!
I did some tests with v.12b.
Now, I had a 13sec test file which is ProRes422HQ, 1920x1080.
I droped it on the Prores droplet (which script (opened in TextWrangler) says it will resize to 1024*576) and these are the issues:
1. The completed file remains 1920*1080
2. And It holds the 1st frame for about 6 seconds and then starts playing. So the exported file is 6 seconds longer.
Got any ideas for these two?
Thanks!
PS: Great job BTW!!!

baly, Way to confusing description, so no idea.
But its usually;
- post a short problematic sample
- full uncut ffmpeg log (see -report options in ffmpeg)
- and so on
(Anyway I can't and refuse to offer any kind of support without really beautiful error description and even then... , its basically a DIY construct)

Thanks Smok3!
Well, the truth is that it doesn't always do this. Here is the info from one file that did it.
I have bold and red the info that shows that it starts encoding 8.8 seconds before???!!!
Let me know if you got any ideas.
Thanks!

Could be broken time-stamps (There are ways to ignore them, see the ffmpeg docs) in the input file or buggy ffmpeg.
