Up to now, I've been doing all my encoding on my main desktop pc. But it uses up a lot of cycles, so I thought I'd be clever and do the encoding on my laptop. I copied all of the necessary files (the .avs, .ass, .mkv and .wav) and successfully encoded there. Then I copy the final encode back to my desktop.
Taking my cleverness a step further, I thought I could save some time if, rather than copy the files back and forth, I simply did the encode on my laptop, using the files on my desktop machine. This mostly worked. It got through the audio, the two video passes, and ultimately failed when trying to mux the final encode. It said it couldn't write the file. This seemed odd to me, since it had no trouble writing the intermediate files to the exact same directory on the network drive.
In another post, I was asked to include the entire log. I tried doing that here, but got an error saying my post was too long, so I'm just including the end that has the error.
