Help! Everything was going so well.....
I used Any dvd hd to rip a disc, and upon playback on the pc, it was a great picture, but a loud digital studdering sound for the whole movie. I then tried to play a few movies from a month ago, and they have no sound at all. (playing a blu-ray in the drive works perfectly)
I re-installed ffdshow, avisynth, and the hali splitter, as well as the bd-rebuilder newest version.
The only change that has been made in the last month to the pc has been the addition of itunes.
What can I try next?

What can I try next?1. Is iTunes your default player now? If so, you may want to consider something else.
2. Uninstall and install FFDSHOW again. Then make sure you configure the audio to play uncompressed files (RAW) files. Its the last entry on the CODECs tab of the Audio Decoder Configuration app. I set it to "All Supported".

Removed ITunes, ffdshow was uninstalled and reinstalled with the lossless codec set to all supported. VC-1 set to wmv9. No change so far, still no sound on previous file playback, or the new ones.
Other ideas?

Other ideas?Nope. That's about it for me.

Something's wrong with your system. Have you created a restore point in the not-too-distant past?

I agree with RobertM...likely a system issue.
Something similar happened to me not too long ago. Somehow my audio driver got corrupted and I had to re-install it from my motherboard drivers disk.

I have not created a restore point, but will look into that and the audio driver. Thanks

You could also try doing a 'repair install' of Windows on your system. This will not affect any installed programs, but will seek to return your operating system to it's default state.
