MeGUI: What does it stand for

Does the Me in MeGui stand for Media Encoder or does it mean something else or nothing at all?

iirc MeGui started as a mencoder frontend, so the 'Me' stood for Mencoder

yup, good memory has, that one :) I started megui and the me stands for mencoder... it was the first application permitting to encode with x264 in a convenient fashion on Windows. I haven't contributed in a long while but just looking at the code brings back memories of many long nights with not enough sleep :) Now with x265 making progress I wonder when it will be time to integrate a new encoder...

Perhaps you could do the honour?If it's already been worked on, there's not much point, is there? Adding an encoder isn't rocket science if the encoder supports avs as input and an output format that can be handled by the available muxers.
How do you pronounce it? That's what I want to know. I call it meh-gui. Not sure why - I figure mencoder is called emm - encoder, not men - coder, but I've always called it like that... meh + gui, combined into a single word. (and the eh part being rather short).
