CC* stops when encoding ...

I trying make one 149mins movie to 3 CD 80mins with VBR 4.
But CC* always stops in 2/3 of counting. I tried VBR3, VBR2 and still stops. No errors.

******* this last message in TXT file from 14.2.2002 7:24:33 was added, when I turn off CC*. But in this time CC* doesn� works (no changes in frames and % ) 20min and HDD had no activity.

What can be bad ?
When I turn-off CC*, file is created (2GB).

!!! Oh !!! - I know now - It can be, that CC* 2.5 doesnt support file big than 2GB ? Is any way how make with file > 2GB ?

Yes, I working with 32bits FAT under W98SE. / I'm working with DV camcorders and I'm know, that W98 support 4GB /. I was looking for solution on forum, but my english is not so well and I didnt find solution.

this is the well known CCE freezing issue (have a look in a sticked thread at the advanced forum). Try again with "safe mode".

Yes, OK. Safe Mode works with large files than 2GB well ( but little slow: RT 1.4 -> 1.05 ).
I read, that in Safe Mode is possible use CC* 2.62 too. May be with 2.62 in Safe Mode better RT than with CC* 2.5 ?

CCE 2.5 doesn´t have problems with OUTPUT bigger than 2GB (unless that you are using fat16 in win95). It was just coincidence that 2/3 of the encoding had an output equal to 2GB.

OK, I made it in safe mode and it works well.

But I'm still using 32bit FAT only. Where is true ? Can I use CCE 2.5 for files > 2GB, when I want not use Safe mode ?

The problem is that CCE "normal mode" uses a movie framemeserved with avs file. In some computers this mode can be unstable and the result is CCE freezing at some specific percentage/file_size value (this file size value can be any value). To avoid this freezing you need to use "safe mode", which seems to be more stable.

I (and more people here) do have some encodings done using 3CD (then, the output was bigger than 2GB) and there was no problem using the "normal mode". The partition is fat32. Thus, it seems that your theory has no support.

CCE was stable always, when I use only 2CD (2x 90min too). When I choose 3CD 80min, always stops (not freeze - its possible standardly close CCE) on same percents (cca 70)%.

One new questions - I tried make movie to 1CD :-)
I set CB , MAX 2376, avg. MAX 2230, MIN 128 ans when I see to MPG, it has PEEK 3345 . How it is possible ?

One new questions - I tried make movie to 1CD :-) Is there something you haven't tried (yet) with dvd2svcd? ;) - Sorry could not resist - just kidding, machura. ;)

I recommend to run your system (especially your CPU) at the default settings(speed) and see if CCE will freeze again. That is a far better way than just start thousand things at the same time. ;)

If your system runs stable with CCE and your created SVCDs are just fine then do your research on other topics. ;)

When You will be to have so much trouble with playing SVCD in DVD standalone, You will be trying all , what will be possible.

BTW: it is not so well, when mAX is 2376 and in MPG file is 3345.

I think, 3CD in 80mins is standard ...

Or at least try to say it with at least a fragment of English sentance structure, so we at least have a shot at making out whatever it was you were trying to say.

Then again, I may just be drinking too much and words are all getting mixedup in my head.

I see that you have trouble backing up Gladiator too. I myself gave up on backing up this movie. The reason you ask. Well, every time I try to encode the movie after creating the VAF file, CCE would always freeze. I dont know if this is a flaw in the program, or the movie might be uncopyable. If you ever do figure it out, please tell me.

I had problems with bitrate - I think, it was in my player DVD - I bought original DVD (DTS sound is DTS sound :-) )and I didnt try it more...

I had a problem when I used the Harddisk from my Server, I mean I used shared Folders on my network, now I changed only the CCE "Save in Folder" to a local drive and cce won't freez again. I hope I am on topic :) .
