View Full Version : MPC-HC network buffer size?

I've seen questions about this in quite a few places, but no real answer. Playing files over a slow connection is still choppy (though there is bandwidth available).

So is there a way to set the buffer size in MPC-HC?

With the passage to LAV, can the splitter be configured with a larger buffer?

Is there a splitter that allows this?

so, with mpc hc 1.7, you just go to options, internal filters, and click the splitter button on the bottom, where you can configure the buffer.

but your issue is probably network related rather than something you can change in mpc hc.

Configuring max queue memory or stream analysis (the only values in the splitter that can be changed) made no difference. Max queue memory defaults to 128 MB.

I don't think I have a network issue since both WMP and VLC can play the same file over the network just fine (VLC allows me to enlarge the adjust the file caching size).

I have exact same need - how do I set input buffer size on LAV Splitter?

Seems like it's impossible to do that for now. In Haali Media Splitter you can adjust that.
