from the basic knowledge i have of copying ps2 games.. some little tidbids i know are..

copying a dvd based ps2 game is simple.. its just a direct backup copy as there is no copy protection or anything on it.. but of course you would need a dvd burner and a modded ps2.. as just like the old ps1.. and the ps1 games.. you could directly copy the games.. but it could not write certain sectors.. which contained the boot info.. thus needing a ps2 modchip.. or doing a swap trick..

for the regular cd based ps2 games.. i hear this is just a direct copy as well.. clonecd perhaps?

there is also some who will rip the dvd based games and rip out certain things.. downsample some other stuff.. to try and get it to fit on a normal cd..

well those are just general info on copying ps2 games.. but i suggest you do more research on it and go to those sites dedicated to making BACKUPS of ps2 games..
