After looking and trying out everwicked's ogg muxing tutorial I thought to myself...damn there must be an easier way!

As fate would have it I came across this:
http://www.sf.net/projects/mediaxw

Media XW is a group of directshow filters which were designed to provide universal support for different media formats on any DS playback device.

It currently includes MJPEG, Ogg Vorbis, AVI and Monkey's Audio format support.

How do I do this now?

Well install this http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/mediaxw/MediaXW-0.0.6.msi then restart comp. Might want to remove the OTHER ogg DS filter (oggds-0.9.8.2) before you install the MediaXW one if you have it installed.

Well simply make your ogg with your preferred method, then mux together with your videostream using nandub.ta da!

Playback of avi in media player and zoom player works great...no syncyin probs noticed...well yet anyway.

Seems to good to be true. Check it out and post your results here.

I haven't tried with more than one stream (nandub can handle two streams) though.

I believe the MediaXW project has been discontinued so you might want to consider the future viability of this before you r&e your entire collection to these files.

As stated many time before, the author of this project, ingoralfblum, gave up on it recently :( . The basic idea behind it was to implement a complete Ogg container with a Vorbis audio stream into the AVI. nando modified nandub such that this was possible, and ingo created the DirectShowFiler, note that only 0.5 version is working with AVIs.
ingo stated many times now that this was not a good idea though ... you can play your movie( you have to exchange all .dlls called ogg or vorbis in the nandub folder against latest version from Vorbis SDK to be able to mux RC3 Vorbis ) but seeking in the movie is absolutely impossible .

Oh well...Its only a matter of time before its all possible without the use of graphedit till then lame is is.

Btw the reason it worked for my test clip was the clip was an uncompressed avi.

Be warned that MediaXW has many bugs. It becomes impossible to delte Ogg or AVI files on 2 of my system. I was forced to uninstall MediaXW and then clean out the registry manually before things were back to normal. Very nasty:)

Can't remember the exact registry entry you have to get rid of. I'm thing it was an OCX entry or something to do with the contextual menu. It's nasty stuff indeed.
