I'm not sure but I've seen something that has impressed me in the last rip I've done with xvid.
The rip was from the movie Instinct it's a 2 CD rip with:
motion search: 5
H.263 quantizer
No luma masking
Aprox 1500kbps
2 pass Internal
The problem is a continuously blinking in video between a well defined image and a more smoothed image.
When you see the movie the efect appears like normal movie with a blinking of well defined frames, the effect is in faces, backgrounds, etc... and it's very noticeable.
In the screenshots the effect is very noticeable in certain parts and less in the whole image.
I put some screenshots 1,2,3,4.jpgs(attached to this message) they are consecutive frames and in the second is where appears this effect. If the attached file doesn't appear I could e-mail the zip if someone is interested.
I don't know if this is a bug or it's corrected in other versions(I used 30.01.02 version)
I expect it could help at least
...And a question, I've noticed less less mosquito noise in xvid with the same rips than divx4, someone has more results about this?
...And if divx4&divx3 use h.263, could the use of mpeg in xvid do superior rips in cases like 2CD rips of movies with 90-100 min lenght.
Thanks, Sergio
