hi,

i want to copy just the main movie of a dvd
even with only one audio track and the video (no subtitles) the total size is still too big, something like 4.4go

so i'd like to remove a part of the end credits, but keep the maximum of these credits if possible

if i cut the last ripped big vob (with dvddecrypter) with vobSplit then give the vob set files to ifoedit, does it work ?

let's say this solution doesn't work, and the end credits is the last chapter. if i rip the movie with smartripper, all but the last chapter, then gives the result to ifoedit, does it work ?

in my opinion the first solution would be better, this way i can remove just a small part of the end credits

thanks

when i'm in that situation, i rip out the end credits chapter with smartripper....and sometimes, i rip out the intro credits if they are in their own chapter.

hi,

if you strip the beginning of the film (let's say the first chapter) with smartripper then give then result to ifoedit, does it work in a stand alone ?

what about chapters ?

thx

I know i read it before but cannot find it now in a thread search.
After using vobsplit on the last vob on Kate & Leopold i got 10mb to spare on getting the movie on one disc. I just cant remember what step i need to do in ifoedit if any due to the shortened vob.

So, basically i am asking what do i need to do after splitting the last vob so that ifo is correct.

Hi,

Use IFOEdit 0.95

And from
the Doom9 Guide (http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-finalprocedures.htm)

Step 3: Final sector adjustments

To make the disc work on your standalone you must load any of the IFO files that are to be on your final disc, then press get VTS sectors. This will adjust all IFO files and overwrite the old ones with the adjusted ones.

This has worked for me on 'Signs' and 'Serendipity'.

I ripped the opening credits from signs. It still works but there are really weird things happening to the chapters. After chapter 8 it plays on with chapter 9 but my dvd player says it is chapter 1????
Go figure.

Had to do a rebuild pts with ifoedit before it worked.
