Movie : Hollow Man (2000)
Divx 4.12
Res. 512x272 (Widescreen)
Resize : Soft bicubic
Video size : 600MB
The final AVI (without Audio) : 588MB

about 12MB far away from 600MB imho,
how could it be ?

12 mb is not a big deal so you have to deal with it.
when I read your subject I thought maybe you would say like 100-200 mb off not 12 mb.

I have the same problem...and so do most people. DivX 4 isnt that good at getting exact sizes...

With 12 MB off you are lucky. 40 to 50 MB are not uncommon at 700MB.

Well, i don't want to "give more wood to the fire", but does anyone now if it is in the divx networks guys plans, to make divx4 size predicability a little better?
Sorry to the MOD for keep feeding the subject :(
