Hello, I am currently using basic Tdeint plugin to get interlacing done, but cartoon is afer that blurry, solid colors are bleading and so on.
So I am asking you guys because I know you are good ones to help me. Could you provide your known good deinterlace skripts what you use when you decode VOBs to make mkv?
I am personally usually using PAL 50HZ 720*576px material to make my back-ups.
I have past encoded a lot when I was doing anime fansubs but those days I usually got a good raw already done by someone else the interlacing and the fine job with the video.
So I would be glad if you can push me into right direction.
Here is test sample of my video Lagarith cropped and lanczsos4resize:

Here is unprosssed lagarith sample with horrible effects:

1. Around here we don't ask what's best. Please reread the Forum Rules (http://forum.doom9.org/forum-rules.htm).
2. Without a sample there's no way to offer good advice. Maybe it's field-blended. Maybe it's phase-shifted. Animations, almost by definition, are not created interlaced. Please make available a ten-second or so untouched sample from the VOB, one with steady movement.

I think my queastion was kinda spesific, I asked for cartoons and 50hz pal dvd video. These are always 25fps videos and has interlacing issues so in my mind very solid question.

As manono says, you should provide an unprocessed source sample to get useful advice. There are too many types of video and associated pathologies to allow us to guess with any degree of certainty what you have and what would be a good treatment for it.

I added test sample. It is very normal PAL region DVD with interlacing happening when movement and so on. I uses Lagarith wihtout audio and 5sec.

Was there any reason you didn't just cut out a VOB, or an M2V of the video? And making your Lagarith in RGB wasn't a very good idea. Anyway, it's anything but 'a very normal PAL region DVD'. It's a godawful mess. It's field-blended but I can't unblend it properly so maybe deinterlacing it with QTGMC was the best course after all. Since it was made from some NTSC source, maybe you can get an NTSC DVD of the series to work with.
Maybe someone else has a better idea.

Because I dont demux the video, I run virtual dvd and d2v which demuxes video out from dvd image when encoding. This prevent unnecessary disk usage. I have to encode anyway to make a small piece so I used lagarith with some cropping and resize without black borders.
Ok made unprocessed lagarith version... You can see very horrible interlacing there seem to me that I need to process first deinterlacing, then cropping and resize in separate prosess?

Hello again, I have now used Tdeint and srestore(), then smoothdeinterlace with various settings and finally using assumeFPS(23.976) to change the 25fps to normal speed. How ever I seem to still get alot of ghosting. The material seems to be either TFF or progressive mixed with interlace. How ever still searching script to provide non blurry, non ghosts original 23.976fps material out of 50i pal DVD.
Here is some filters that I have tested:
SetMemoryMax(800)
SetMTMode(3, 16)
Video = MPEG2source("Vuosijuhla.d2v")
Audio = directshowsource("vuosijuhla DELAY 32ms.ac3")
SetMTMode(2)
audiodub(Video,Audio)
#McTemporalDenoise(settings="medium", interlaced=true)
SmoothDeinterlace(tff=true,doublerate=false,lacethresh=5,edgethresh=10,staticthresh=0)
#srestore(frate=25)
#Slow video to 23.976fps
AssumeFPS(23.976, sync_audio=true)
#SelectEven()
#tdeint(mode=1)
#srestore(frate=25)
#QTGMC( Preset="very fast", EdiThreads=1 )
#Distributor()
DeBlock()
#Sharpen(0.1)
#TDeint(order=0)
Lanczos4Resize(720,576,7, 1, -7, -1)
#nnedi3_rpow2(rfactor=4,cshift="spline36resize",fwidth=960,fheight=720,nsize=3,nns=4,pscrn=4)

It's already at film speed so you don't need the AssumeFPS(23.976). It wasn't converted to PAL simply by speeding it up as is the usual way. There are just too many blended fields for it to be unblended well. An unblender such as SRestore needs at least one of every 2-field frame to be 'clean' and you don't have that here. I don't think it can ever be unblended well. That's why I suggested searching for an NTSC DVD of the video if one exists and if you like this one a lot.
Do you still think it's a a very normal PAL region DVD?

How ever still searching best script ... You were warned once not to ask for the "best". Strikes will follow if you do not comply with our forum rules.

I am sorry in my culture we speak always like that. I am used to it so sorry about that.

Well, I think yes, direct authoring from DVD to ISO image. Can that make the video poorer?

There is probably some kind of language barrier here, but the point is that the content of the video is not originally PAL, it was made in the US or Canada where NTSC is used. The conversion to PAL has been done poorly, which is why you have these blended images. It most likely can not be fixed no matter what you do with avisynth. A DVD where the content is originally PAL (or at least converted sensibly) would not have these problems in the first place.
If you want the "best" quality video you need to find the same DVD published in the original format (probably region 1 in this case).

Ok I will try that, but atm the bad thing is that I don't know the English name for the release so I cannot find correct episode number for English release.

Perhaps something from below can help,
"vuosijuhla" seems to have some connection with "My Little Pony".
Google "Jayson Thiessen" "James Wooton"
brings up below in a nomination for some award.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (Directed by Jayson Thiessen and James Wooton)
"A Canterlot Wedding", two part season finale of My Little Pony

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_My_Little_Pony:_Friendship_Is_Magic_episodes

Somewhere in above links there are lists of songs in each episode, if you can ID a song title, then perhaps get episode from that,
EDIT: If you can get a song title from End Credits, google the name and "My Little Pony", should take you straight to
the episode you want..
