View Full Version : BDRB encode issue? bug?

Hey guys, i'm not sure if this is where to post but if not maybe someone could point me in the right direction.

I have been backing up my BD's for a while now with BDRB and it is working great so far. Thanks a lot for this awesome software but I recently came across an issue. It seems to be an issue with BDRB. When backing up the BD "Limitless" I have ripped it to ISO using Anydvd HD (and also imgburn for testing with anydvd in the background) and have now encoded several times with BDRB down to 25gb iso and there is an issue with the encoded image. It loads up fine and starts to play a set of three trailers (i guess anydvd wont remove these for me even though it says it has) and I can skip through the first two but when I hit skip on the third trailer it is supposed to go to the menu and instead it freezes up. Also, if I start it over and hit the menu button instead nothing happens. The weird thing is that if I let it play through the last trailer, the menu loads fine. This has been confirmed as an issue because I have burned it to disc and get the exact same problem on my stand alone player. I also went back and checked if the original full disc backup iso's have this problem and they do not. On the original ripped iso I can skip right through all of the chapters and into the menu. I also burned a full sized backup onto a dual layer disc for testing and it works fine. Once encoded with BDRB it freezes up if I try to do that. Any one have any ideas?

UPDATE: I re-encoded this disc using DvdFab 9(latest version) using full disc and this problem does not happen. Confirmed this is a BDRB issue.

Sounds more like an Anydvd HD ripping issue.
(i guess anydvd wont remove these for me even though it says it has)
Perhaps try removing these options available within Anydvd, which could be considered preprocessing, and let BDRB run against a clean, full rip.
You can have BDRB remove/blank what you don't want on your backup.

i encoded the exact same ripped iso with BDRB and dvdfab. only the bdrb encode encountered this error. I also ripped the disc with imgburn as well.
