Connecting to Lav audio with Chrome or IE, etc

Not sure if this is the right place to post this...apologize in advance if it's not.

I want stereo sources like Youtube videos or Netflix (over IE) to go through Lav audio(or FFDSHow) so that i can use it's 5.1 mixing feature and push that audio over an AMD Radeon HDMI to a Denon receiver. I want stereo -> 5.1.
Normally I would let the receiver upmix stereo audio , but whenever I connect it to my PC it detects it as Multi channel PCM input and disables all the different surround modes such as DTS Neo 6, etc.

Is this possible at all?

AFAIK, when upmixing, LAV Audio doesn't fill the extra ("new") channels w/ audio. Those channels would be empty (i.e. it doesn't duplicate the audio from the front-left to the rear-left).
For a "full" upmix, you might be forced to use ffdshow.

How to pass everything from IE through ffdshow? No idea. :/

wouldnt it be better to play the Youtube links from the player itself rather than a web browser?
