Which Codecs are used by Chromecast, Miracast, WiDi, and other Wireless Display technologies?
I doubt that the data throughput offered by Wi-Fi can support Uncompressed Video (HD and 3D)
Can Wi-Fi Direct replace HDMI (10.2 Gbps) or DisplayPort (21.6 Gbps)?

There's a decoder inside the Chromecast dongle.

The Marvell DE3005-A1 SoC looks to be a stripped down version of the SoC in the Google TV products.

Which video/audio codecs can be decoded by the in-built hardware decoder inside the Chromecast dongle?
Why doesn't Google disclose?
And what about Miracast and Intel WiDi?
