Hi all,
I had hard time yesterday trying to convert some movies into VOB along with the DVD folder structure, with DVD Flick..
Then i saw that my DVD player (Toshiba) accept Divx files (and Avi), the registered (R), but also the DivX 4 (OpenDivX) codec ...
My question is, what recommended video codec are you using for this kind of player, Xvid which is Open source IIR ?
Thanks a lot, L

yes xvid should be fine as long as you disable the typical options which are not supported by stand alone players (read: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=98228)

Thanks Selur,
For the record, i have Toshiba DRV70DTKF2, VCR & DVD
But problems to burn DVD, i use Exel DVD+RW medias with DeepBurner, a very old tool sometimes it fails burning, then Super Blank also not always works...
For the moment i had just success with the DivX 4 (OpenDivX) codec...
The manual says, files should be :
DivX (R) official,
- All until DivX 6
Resolution max :
720 x 480 @ 30 fps
720 x 576 @ 25 fps
Audio : mp3, mp2, Dolby Digital...
I had good experience with smaller resolution : 576 x 432 @ 25 fps, some VOD.
They say, it needs DivX mandatory...

Of-course they do. You would too if you paid Divx a load of money to put their logo on your device!
The fact is, any correctly encoded 'MPEG-4 Part-2.avi' file should work okay...

SeeMoreDigital, sure you're right. When my new DVD writer arrive, i will give it a try; Exel DVD+RW seems tricky...
