Hello everyone m(_ _)m
Here's my n00b problem:
I have an Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9650 @ 3.00GHz and 2GB of RAM
I use Windows XP
I really like using Xvid, and I used it as the codec to capture videos, it worked really good for a while; but lately there was delay between the audio and the video so I bought a Hauppauge HD PVR and the delay is gone.
I use Hypercam2 too to record from the desktop and even though my old capture card wasn't able to capture with the Xvid codec without delay anymore the desktop recorder could.
However I noticed that delay started appearing in the desktop recorder too now.
Everytime I would format my PC the amount of time before the delay appears would get shorter.
Now even if I don't use the Xvid codec and try to use the Full Frames (Uncompressed) option the delay still appears. (In both cases the delay appears after around 10 minutes so it doesn't matter if I use Xvid or not.)
So my questions would be:
Is my PC dying? Is it time to buy a new PC? I noticed the delay started appearing even after just formatting my PC. Could it be that the person that formatted my PC 3 weeks ago just didn't do it right because right before formatting I could record just fine? (My C drive died) I immediately felt my PC heavier and slower right after I got it back compared to how it was before my C drive died.
In case my PC is dying which would be a good PC to get for video capturing? (Processor, motherboard, etc.)
Is Xvid a lost cause now? (As a recording codec) I was recommended to use FRAPS but I can't get it to work with the Nintendo DS emulator desmume. Supposedly FRAPS only works with programs and games that use DirectX and the 0.9.9 version of Desmume has an option of setting the display method to OpenGL but FRAPS won't recognize it.
I tried using a PC with Windows 7 and Hypercam2 wouldn't work with it. The video would look like it going in Fast Forward and the audio would lag behind. I don't know why
Any tips or help would be greatly appreciated.
