How I get rid of those terrible lines in INTERLACED DVDs???

I'm having problems when I try to rip those damn INTERLACED DVDs... I've already tried almost everything, but nothing helps to gets out those terrible lines that appears normally when there are fast movement or pans in the camera... I've tried deinterlace in Flask, in DivX encoder, in Virtualdub, inverse telecine, bob.... I think that I am doing something wrong!!!! It's not possible!!!!

Anyone knows some efficient method to encode to DivX these INTERLACED DVDs???

Assuming you're talking about video, Donald Graft's "Smart De-interlacer" should work. I used it with the setting "frame- and -field-difference" and default values. It does a splendid job.

I don't try the decomb package, but I solved the problem completely with the AVIUtl software. This is absolutely fantasrtic!!! It seems to have some kind of IVTC automatic filter that eliminate all interlaced frames!!! I finally can encode the interlaced vobs to divx without even an entrelaced frame!!! this softs really rules!!! Save my soul! hehe

I really recommend to those that have the same problem!!

I know your decomb filter because I've already researched about it before... I don't try it because two reasons: One: the AVISynth seems to hang my dvd drive in Win XP ( I don't know why...) and it seems to me a little difficult to use... maybe some kind of tutorial shold encourage people to use it... By your description in your site, the decomb filter seems to be a powerful tool to deinterlace! I like to try it if I could understand some more, how it works!

Hi semmerket. I've had no problems using it with Win XP. The default settings are usually OK, but there's a very good Help file included along with it. Perhaps if you posted a request in the AviSynth Forum for settings for the type of material and what you want to do with it, neuron2 or someone else could help you out.
