Hello,

yes, I guess ... some will be fed up, when they read what I write now ...

but I am looking for a tiny (< 20-60 MB; less than 100 files)
simple (no big learning curve over weeks), affordable (< 50 € / priceless)
Videoeditor to blur some areas with confidential information (Realname, Email adress etc.) or lay black rects about the text.
These are 4 areas.

What can I do?

of course I can use Virtual Dub and GIMP to create BMP logos with needeed sizes ("a black rect or circle or so"), load it in Virtual Dub's logo plugin, adjust the positions of any, and repeat until all moments are covered and save it as divided parts with altered and normal parts in new files.
At least I have to assemble them and save a second time.
Perhaps then I can convert it as mp4 or flv with a second program.

But I have 4 areas, they appear within the video 5 times for 10 seconds. That would be a lot work. 2 h max.

Adobe Premiere is too expensive, too big (Setup is 2 GB, installed 3 or 4? and spreads thousand files over my HDD) and then I first have to learn how to use it.

I already had Sony Vegas - I bought it ..[yes,really legally paid] and sold it again via ebay because it had a stubborn GUI and video imand export. Besides it crashed severeal times. :(

I used Ulead Video Studio 4 for years. But I wasn't really happy. No nice handling.

So .... what else can I do or use?

Lightning is free for use and also really mighty, but has a special learning curve, too.
Magix Video is bloated and effords a same tricky usage to create these special effects.

But it cannot be so hard ... in 2013 ???
Does one know a good tip?
Many thanks!

You don't have to save separate parts and reassemble. You can apply filters to selected frames in VirtualDub and then save it all as one output file.

EditStudio (24.6 MB) ($49)

I've used it a few years ago and it was really simple to use with intuitive GUI.
