¿Can you elaborate more on the settings you are using for input and output?

ofcourse filter change another film ripping. for example resize

¿what about the resulting file properties (like Mediainfo's)?

I want to ask that;
what are the parameters that changes output dimension while ripping with virtualdub? is matrice, is quantization etc...
use 720x304 fix crop and filter setting on above image
same setting and same calculation but; one rip output dimension 1gb+ac3 files, one rip output dimension 688 mb+ac3 files
WHY?
i want to 1.36 gb

And the missed idea is: file size.
If you want to target file size, the you must change bitrate of both video and audio, according to the following formula:
bitrate_in_bits_per_second = (output_file_size_you_want_in_bytes * 8) / length_of_video_in_seconds
So, if you want your output file size to be 1.36 GB, then you must do:
bitrate_(bps) = 1,360,000,000 * 8 / seconds_of_movie
bitrate_(kbps) = bitrate_(bps) / 1000
That value is the audio+video bitrate, then video_bitrate = bitrate - audio_bitrate
Finally, I recommend you to take away about 50 kbps from video_bitrate and use that value for encoding.

my formula
http://n1306.hizliresim.com/1b/u/plf4j.jpg
as a matter of fact two formula same
problem, does not always result in the any film.
used some of the parameters changing in the result. i curious these parameters

For the same length time, different file size implies different bitrate. Can you post the bitrate of your video files? You can use MediaInfo to get it.

General : Goats1.avi
Format : AVI at 1 066 Kbps
Length : 688 MiB for 1s 30dk 14s 920ms
Video #0 : MPEG-4 Visual at 1 061 Kbps
Aspect : 720 x 304 (2.368) at 25.000 fps
ac3 files size: 289 MB
1,36 GB (Target Size) - 289 MB (Audio Size) = ~ 1,01 GB (Video Size)
but this rip Video size: 688 MB
Calculation same. This is first rip test
Second test:
General : Goats2.avi
Format : AVI at 1 031 Kbps
Length : 666 MiB for 1s 30dk 14s 920ms
Video #0 : MPEG-4 Visual at 1 026 Kbps
Aspect : 720 x 304 (2.368) at 25.000 fps
third test:
General : Goats3.avi
Format : AVI at 1 066 Kbps
Length : 688 MiB for 1s 30dk 14s 920ms
Video #0 : MPEG-4 Visual at 1 061 Kbps
Aspect : 720 x 304 (2.368) at 25.000 fps

Is this just the saturation point? What is the average quantizer?
For some videos Xvid cannot make the file larger. If Xvid is already using the minimum quantizer it cannot increase the size. You can lower the min quantizer. Allowing quant 1 will allow your videos to be much larger but for a very small increase in quality.
Quant 2 is a good minimum in practice.

where is Quant setting on virtualdub. which one?
