I have a dvd that is region 2, is there anyway to change that to a region 1 so it will play on my dvd player? I have copy software that I can use. thanks:

The 2 potential answers I have (there may be other/better ones) are:
* recommended: use a decrypter like DVDFab HD Decrypter to decrypt the DVD to hard disk, then rewrite it without specifying Regions using a burner of your choice (ImgBurn recommended). Come to think of it, I don't recall having knowingly used DVDFab HD Decrypter to decrypt a disc with a Region that differed from my drive's, so I'd be grateful if you could post back your experiences.
* less attractive: change the region of your drive. This is easy to do if it's a computer drive, but the downside is that you're normally only allowed 5 changes, and you'd have to change it back to your normal Region 1 afterwards, hence 2 changes required.

Since we don't know what "copy software" you have, you have do do some manual work of yourself, check whether that "copy software" can change the region to 1 or 0.

Hi!
The following thread (from the Doom9 Forum) will provide you with multiple options regarding region change:

Further, good ol' DVD Decrypter has a facility (one simple click) to change the Region code...
